Received a note from the Project Manager of Extreme Blue asking me if I knew of any topstudents for their program. So I thought I would experiment using the blogosphere to relay the question. :-)
Extreme Blue is a summer internship IBM, in which a team of students have 12 weeks to come up with an innovative Proof-of-concept and a business case for a challenge set by a client. Having done the program myself once as a student, I can only tell you, it is a true rollercoaster ride! The best thing is that the program works with actual clients, so it's the real thing, accept the project is squeezed in the space of twelve weeks instead of 12 months.. ;-) No pressure, right.

Hey ELine,
To me this is what innovation is all about and one of the best examples of how to "manage" an innovation process.
The whole idea is to do a state-of-the-art project, explore possible groundbreaking opportunities together with a student team and a client. What I like about it that there are people coming together from different disciplines to think of groundbreaking ideas and build a proof of concept in just 12 weeks.
Personally, I think that being innovative almost always requires methodology, structure and discipline and Extreme Blue is a good example of that.
Although of course it would be interesting to know about innovations that have spontaniously occured..
